Great summary. Been living here for 3 years. Tons of runners, bikers, boaters, and kayakers. Streets are wide and clean. And most importantly, has low crime rate. City is super fast to respond to any issues. I noticed you mentioned Bridgepoint Shopping but not Hillsdale Mall and two Asian supermarkets.
Thank you for sharing your insights about Foster City! I've learned a lot about the city's proactive efforts to combat sea level rise and flooding. I had no idea there were so many parks!
It’s amazing how many parks there are in Foster City and very impressive what the city and community have done with their new and improved levee system.
@@livinginsanmateocountycaI love the fact that almost every park has a bathroom that's cleaned once a week and is well maintained. And yes, I do live there (neighborhood 4). I also like there's a strong police presence.
Here I am watching this video while on the cusp of buying a 3,000 sq ft 5 BR 3.5 bath home in Vegas for $600K while working in Stanford hospital..... 2.3 million for a single family home is just plain RIDICULOUS. Even if I earn close to half a million, it just doesn't justify blowing money at an absurd rate here in the Bay.
No it is not true. Foster City is built on engineered fill. The landfill was/is Redwood Shores and over at San Mateo's seal pt. I'm president of FC historical society, I have the docs to prove it.
I know, “affordable” is for sure a loaded word when we toss around these massive numbers. The truth is, this area is extremely expensive and sadly most cannot afford to buy even a lower priced condo. It’s not something I am proud of.
Hey you’re right. Sadly less than 10% of people who live in the Bay Area can afford the median home price, so we have a real issue. However Foster City is much more affordable than neighboring towns, but in other context, not affordable for most. Having grown up here I’m not proud of that, but that’s what it is.

Thanks for sharing this! Totally agree!
Interesting to hear the plan for dealing with the flood risk and sea level rise. Great that Foster City has so many parks! Great info!
Thank you! It was a big effort and kudos to Foster City!

Wow, I learned a lot about FC! 24 parks and 6 dog parks is amazing. You inspired me to visit some great parks there I have not been to in years!
Seriously! There’s at least two parks for every neighborhood, sometimes more!

@@garrettmoriguchi9253love this, and thanks for sharing! Very impressive how FC works so hard to keep things clean and nice.

Yes that’s a great point, and completely true!

To be clear, it’s not bedrock.
What $1M is affordable for a condo? Can’t afford it

Affordable for who?? Wealthy tech entrepreneurs? lol your definition of affordable is tripping.

Who would want to live in those shiteholes at $1100 a square foot. Let alone Foster City!
San Mateo County certainly is expensive. But many people do like it here.
